Plan International has deep roots in Europe. Founded during the Spanish Civil War, we began by supporting children affected by conflict. Nearly a century later, Europe remains central to our work — both as a site of humanitarian response and support for our programs worldwide.
Our focus
We work with some of the most vulnerable children and families — including refugees and people displaced by the war in Ukraine. We help children return to school, strengthen protection systems and provide mental health support. We also work to make sure women and girls can access essential healthcare services that are critical but often hard to reach in a crisis.
Across all our European offices, we promote gender equality and inclusion, support survivors of gender-based violence, and create meaningful opportunities for young people to lead and advocate for change. And because change requires resources, our offices also support fundraising, public engagement and advocacy efforts that sustain programs globally.
